Garden of the Peaceful Dragon [Excerpts]
Garden of the Peaceful Dragon is a verité feature-length documentary, produced and edited by Karim López. Shot entirely on an iPhone by Producer/Director, Daniel Peddle, the doc is an intimate character study of the unforgettably charming, Burley Luvell Benford III (aka, Shanawo, or the Peaceful Dragon), a U.S. war veteran, tai chi master and master gardener, who occupies an abandoned piece of government property by the beach on Kaua'i, Hawaii.
Also a meditation on Art, Race, the definition of a meaningful life and much more, this film won Best Documentary at the 2017 Harlem International Film Festival.
